Regardless of your MCU and programming style, Trinamic offers an extensive set of tools to set up and fine-tune their products. Ranging from the free and intuitive integrated development environment to CANopen tools to the technology access package including Trinamic's API, Trinamic offers everything you need to integrate industry-leading solutions into your own firmware project.
Dedicated to motion control, the development program allows you to use simple commands for positioning and setting all relevant parameters of the motion controller to accelerate application development. With the TMCL-IDE, anyone can design the perfect drive for their application.
Trinamic's own integrated development environment TMCL-IDE is key for quick setup of Trinamic modules and evaluation boards. The free program uses a versatile protocol that can be used with CAN, RS232, RS485, and USB interfaces. Complete with a Wizard to guide you through the steps, it's widely used by Engineers who like the intuitive graphical user interface. The flexible program supports use of commands in direct mode, monitors real-time behavior in graphs, and logs and stores data. Written in C++/Qt, all settings can be exported for your own firmware project.
Dedicated to motion control applications, the graphical user interface uses the Trinamic Motion Control Language which can easily be exported in C/C++ for integration in your own project. The TMCL™ programming language includes commands like moving one or more motor axes at certain velocities or to certain positions and for setting all relevant motion control parameters. Additional general-purpose digital and analog IOs can be accessed as well and a code library contains snippets that are free to use. Program development is supported by the TMCL-IDE.
ScanSource POS and Barcoding is a value-added distributor of point-of-sale (POS) and automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) systems and solutions. Founded in 1992, ScanSource is committed to delivering value-added services to resellers in North America, Latin America and Europe, including technical support, system integration.
The API is a library to simplify use of Trinamic chips in C or C++ to speed up firmware development based on the ICs. The software API is part of a comprehensive collection of technical support information and tools named TTAP (Trinamic Technology Access Package). Suited for different CPU types, the API is provided in terms of complete Eclipse projects and also contains the firmware for Trinamic’s modular evaluation system. This project demonstrates the API and can be used as a starting point for your own firmware development based on Trinamic's integrated circuits.
TMCM-CANopen is Trinamic's tool for all CANopen modules and supports the same CAN interfaces as the TMCL-IDE. Offering the ease of use for CANopen modules as the TMCL-IDE offers for all other modules, the CANopen tool shortens design cycles. It provides easy access to all CANopen objects and simplifies use of the standard CiA-402 modes, like profile positioning mode, profile velocity mode, and homing mode. More sophisticated functions such as graphical monitoring of CANopen objects is integrated as well, making setup and fine-tuning of your CANopen module as easy as 1-2-3.
